Patents can provide great strategic advantage, but knowing if and how to start can be difficult questions to answer on your own. Justin Blows from Phoenix Intellectual Property will introduce patents and the patent application process, as well as discuss the strategic advantage of patents.
Following on from the dramatic budget announcements, Richard Yabsley from Bacchus Associates Chartered Accountants will discuss in detail the different Incentive options for the Development and Commercialisation of Intellectual Property.
In particular he will discuss the impacts of the changes to the Research & Development Tax Incentive (150% tax deduction or 45c in each dollar cash back for loss making companies) for experimental work in generating the IP and Export grants which can help fund up to 50% of all reasonable overseas registration IP expenses (including patents, designs, trademarks, trade secrets and copyright) and its renewal up to a value of $50k per annum.
